This sculpture is a supposed to be a fish. Inside the clear fish you can see a bunch of pieces of trash. The trash inside the fish directly shows and represents all of the trash and plastic that animals in the ocean and other bodies of water are constantly consuming. This sculpture focus on form. It uses a main, hollow, see through form, then a bunch of smaller forms inside of the larger one. I was Inspired by an artist named Ma Li. She transformed plastic water bottles into jelly-like fish. I really liked her work, and was inspired by it because the overuse of plastic water bottles is a rapidly growing problem. This way, she uses another persons trash, and turns it into something beautiful. The fish I created is intended to be a statement piece. This fish is made of all recycled pieces of plastic and trash. It is supposed to bring more awareness to the fast that there is too much plastic and trash in the world, specifically in the oceans. All of the trash in the ocean is harming the environment and becoming part of the ocean animals daily diet. Overall, I would say that this project was a success. The fish created isn't super quickly recognizable as a plastic water bottle. The little pieces inside are very visible and look just as I envisioned it. The plastic bottle fish has gills, a tail, and a mouth which makes it look even more realistic.
